Our Foothills Journal

The Foothills Trail is a beautiful but challenging trail through the mountains of north western South Carolina and south western North Carolina. We made our first hike on the Foothills Trail in March of 2003. We learned a lot from this hike as it was our first time on the trail, as well as the longest hike we had taken up to this point. Below you will find links to our Foothills Trail Journals, including our planning, experiences on the trail and photos. Take your time, enjoy reading about our experiences and please give us some feedback about your hikes on the trail.
